The goal of the week is to WRITE!
On Monday we will be finishing the breakdown of the sample essay we started to label on Friday. Your homework for Monday is to finish the CommonLit assignment on Frankenstein, and to also create an outline of your IRR. You SHOULD be able to begin your outline in class!
Our grammar focus is going to be set aside this week! That means that there will be no NoRedInk assignment or quest!
You will have time to write in class on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
But, on Tuesday we will also be spending some time in class reviewing your PBPA #4…the one about sugary drinks. This is our FSA focus for the week. I have graded the essays on a scale of a (-) to a (+).
(-) Low – 6 points
(- √) Middle Low – 8 points
(√) Middle – 14 points
(√ +) Middle High – 16 points
(+) High – 20 points
In class on Tuesday, you will read through your essay, and then answer the following questions on a loose leaf sheet of paper:
- What did you do well?
- What can you wonk on?
- How are you doing to improve next time?
- What do you think this score transfers to on the FSA rubric? Think PFO, E+E, GUM!
On Thursday night, your IRR rough draft is due to Google Classroom at 11:59pm, so that you can peer edit in class on Friday. This rough draft should be a FULL rough draft…not half done. I will be checking for this rough draft to be within the word count.
The final IRR is due on Sunday at 11:59pm to Google Classroom and TurnItIn.com. This is a hard deadline and if it is submitted late to either platform, it will be zero in the gradebook.
