If any of my old BRCHS students are checking in, keep chugging along! You have a little bit longer to go and I know you can do it! Don’t forget, you can still email me with questions and updates!

For my current CDS students, the final true countdown is on! Days 1 & 2 this week are the final content days, while days 3 & 4 are review days.

If you want to stay after school or come in early to prepare for exams, work on my projects, or anything else, then let me know and I will be there to open my classroom for you to study.

All late work – for Freshmen and Seniors – is due to me by the end of the day on Wednesday, December 5, 2018!

9th Grade

Remember, your independent reading project is due by 11:59pm on December 3, 2018 – that is Monday! If it is not submitted on time, it is a 0, For – Ev – Er! (Who can get my movie reference?)

Also, the written portion of your AMSND Body Biography Midterm Assessment is due on 11:59pm to Google Classroom and on Sunday, December 9, 2018. This CANNOT be late!

Day 1: We will use Monday to watch the final 40 minutes of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Then you will complete a CommonLit activity for a story titled “Was it a dream?” It has a video adaptation paired with it.

For homework,  you will finish the CommonLit assignment and create two discussion questions to bring to class for a Socratic seminar. The questions can cover anything from Acts 1 -5 of the play and what we have learned about Shakespeare! This is our final conversation about the play! Let’s make it really good. How can you connect the play to your life today? What lessons have you learned?

Day 2: If you read everything from Day 1, you will know that we will use day 2 to have a Socratic seminar in class. The goal is to answer all those questions we didn’t answer throughout our reading, but also to bring the play into our lives today.

For homework, you will complete a conference sheet. This will be due either on day 3 or 4 depending on when your conference is scheduled with me. Click here to see the schedule. The goal of the conference is to see where you are at, how you have grown, and what you want to show me in your midterm.

Day 3 & 4: So again, if you read Day 2, you know that day 3 & 4 will be used for student/teacher conferences. While you are not conferencing with me, you will be working on your midterm project. Click here for your midterm assessment directions.

For homework, you will be finishing the written portion of your midterm which is due on Sunday, December 9, 2018, by 11:59PM to Google Classroom and

If you missed my tutorial on the exam or on how to use TurnItIn – look on Google Classroom for the powerpoint (I could not get it to upload here). Ask for help EARLY! While this is your midterm, I can still help you!

The week of 12/10 to 12/14 is exam week! You will present your project during your exam period. You will have 3-5 minutes to present the most important parts of your project to your class. Remember, dress to impress! Here is a video that discusses body language to help inspire you to practice and explain why I want you to dress to impress!

British Literature

You will be spending most of the week working on your British Literature Midterm Multimedia Project in class! Your presentations will be occurring on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, in class. Your exam period is from 8am to 10am.

If we haven’t finished the film yet, we use some of Monday to do so!

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, be sure to reach out!
